AI Chatbot speeds up work with HR data at Slovak Telekom and T-Mobile CZ

Implementation of an AI chatbot for HR reporting in the Azure environment provides fast and secure access to data without the need to manually open reports or contact HR analysts. The project, carried out in collaboration with Aspecta, simplified the work of managers and HR departments and strengthened the culture of data-driven decision-making.

Solution

Aspecta designed and implemented an AI chatbot built on the Microsoft Azure platform using the Azure OpenAI (GPT‑4 Turbo/4.5). The chatbot serves as a natural extended interface for HR reporting, allowing users to ask questions in natural language. Responses are generated based on SQL/DAX queries over the HR database, fully respecting RLS and Object Security policies.
 
Technologies used: 
  • Frontend: MS Teams (native environment for ST/TMCZ)
  • Backend: Python, LangChain, CrewAI, Teams‑AI SDK
  • AI Model: Azure OpenAI (GPT‑4 Turbo/4.5)
  • Dáta: HR cube in the ST Azure Cloud tenant, accessed via a read-only schema
  • Hosting: Azure App Service (Docker image), Azure AI Foundry

 

The chatbot analyzes user queries, translates them into SQL statements, and uses an RAG approach to interpret responses in the context of HR metrics. Integration with MS Teams ensures simple and fast use for managers, HR business partners, and analysts.

Implementation

The project was carried out in two phases:

  1. Feasibility Study (Q1/2024): Validation of AI capabilities, security verification, and RLS access testing.
  2. Production pilot (Q2/2024): Deployment of the solution in the Azure environment, integration with MS Teams, and testing with selected HR teams.
 
The project was conducted in close cooperation with the IT security, HR, and BI teams, ensuring full compatibility with internal processes and compliance policies (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
